Pasta Salad

Quick and easy to make, this pasta salad is a perfect accompaniment for so many dishes.

Be it meat, fish or vegetable, pasta salad adds great colour, taste, and texture to your plate.

Give this a go, try it with a drizzle of olive oil, or mix some mayonnaise with fresh cream and mix it into your pasta salad, you'll love it.

Perfect for those hot summer days, but to fair, this is great at any time of the year.

INGREDIENTS

200gr of your favourite pasta,

a tin of red peppers,

pitted (boned) olives,

a small tin of tuna (in olive oil if possible),

crab sticks,

salt and water.

STEPS

1)Place the pasta into a large pan of salted water, bring to the boil, then simmer until "al dente" (soft but still resistant when bitten).

The time this takes will depend on the pasta you use, so read the instructions on the packet, they are usually pretty accurate.

2)Whilst the pasta cooks, slice the peppers into strips, and cut the olives into halves.

3)Once the pasta is cooked, remove it from the flame and strain it under plenty of cold running water. It is important to stop the pasta from cooking, so give it plenty of time under the water. Then set aside to cool.

4)Once the pasta has cooled, pass it to a large bowl, then add all the other ingredients (not the salt), and mix them together.

5)Serve the pasta salad with a healthy drizzle of olive oil, or make a dressing of mayonnaise and fresh cream, both are delicious.

Accompanying it with something hot is also a good idea, and, as this pasta goes well with almost anything, you have no shortage of options to choose from.
